Connecting Your Blu-ray player

Even if you’re not very tech savvy connecting your Blu-ray player is probably the easiest piece of equipment you will ever have to connect. To connect your Blu-ray all it takes is one cord, the Hdmi cord. All you have to do is connect hdmicordyour Hdmi cord from the Hdmi output on your Blu-ray player to the Hdmi input on your hdtv and thats it! The Hdmi cord carries 1080p video as well as digital audio.

Make sure if you can to use an Hdmi cord as this offers you the most optimal 1080p Blu-ray viewing. If for some reason you do not have an Hdmi connection on your hdtv then you can use the component video connections (red, green, blue for video and red and white for audio) this connection will still display your movies in Hd but it will only be in the 720p or 1080i formats.

One thing you DO NOT want to do is to connect your Blu-ray player to your hdtv with the yellow (composite) video connection. If you do this you may as well of just stuck with your old standard Dvd player.

The last thing is that you want to connect your Blu-ray player to your internet network. If you dont connect it to your network you will miss out on alot of cool features as well as the latest firmware upgrades. Most players come with a LAN input as well as a USB port for an optional wireless internet adapter. Some even come with built in Wifi.
